About Family Pride

Family Pride is a Seiner. Seiners, with the help of a skiff, encircle salmon with a large net supported by hundreds of floats at the surface.

The huge net is unfurled from the stern and played out in a large circle with the help of the skiff.

When the fish are completely surrounded by the net, it is then drawn together or "pursed" at the bottom, and a power winch on the boat hauls the net in.

The fish remain in the "bag" in the water until they are ready to be brought on board and processed.

The Family Pride Tradition

As a descendant of the first Alaska fishermen, I have taken up the challenge of providing consistent, high quality seafood that reflects my respect for the resource and my way of life.

Because quality begins at the point of harvest, I have designed and developed my own frozen-at-sea process that ensures careful handling of every fish and produces top quality salmon to enjoy throughout the year.

I am honored to present you with wild Alaskan Seafood Products that reflect my heritage and commitment to quality.
